Dance Beats - fundraising for our health charity partners
5 July 2019
This summer, we’ve launched Dance Beats - our biggest ever fundraising campaign to support the life-changing work of our three national health charity partners: Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.
Dance Beats will bring the nation together for three days of dance events in all of our stores across the country on 18, 19 and 20 July, concluding with 30-hour dance marathon relay at Wembley Stadium on 19 and 20 July, where Tesco colleagues and members of the public will attempt to break a Guinness World Record. Championing Dance Beats is our supergroup – made up of colleagues, supporters and celebrities who are all connected to one of the three charities – who are raising awareness of the fundraiser in local communities.
Dance Beats follows last year’s announcement of a five-year partnership between Tesco and our charity partners. You can read more about our partnership here.
Dancing is a great form of exercise that has significant health benefits. By taking part in Dance Beats, not only will you be helping to raise money to fight some of the nation’s big health challenges, you’ll also be helping yourself get fitter, get healthier and most importantly feel better.
Head down to your nearest store between 18-20 July to donate or support local fundraising – try on some fancy dress, learn the official routine, watch both colleagues and local community dance groups perform, or take part in an instructor-led class (selected stores). Some of our stores will also have a dedicated dance floor – see the full list below.
- Apply for tickets to take part in our Guinness World Record attempt at London’s Wembley stadium on 19 and 20 July – register your interest here.
- Learn the Dance Beats ‘pump and slide’ and post on social media – use #TescoDanceBeats, and we’ll donate £10 to the campaign up to £100,000. Learn the routine in the video below.
- Create your own community dance event – download our fundraising guide for hints and tips to help get you started.
